We have eighteen slaters and tilers qualified to NVQ and City & Guild level. In addition to this, we have one operative currently training.

We are certified and accredited members of Constructionline, CHAS, SMAS, CQMS and Greenlight Safety Assessment Schemes, meaning that our Health & Safety policy, organisation and arrangements have all been pre-assessed and pre-approved by these independent expert bodies, saving our customers the time and trouble of undertaking their own assessments.

All of our employees, from Directors to Trainees, are fully trained in all aspects of Health and Safety relevant to their works, to ensure that they can carry out their duties and responsibilities in the safest manner possible.

Please see our Training section for more in depth information on the wide variety of courses and qualifications that our employees have attended and hold.

CSCS was set up in the mid-1990s with the aim of improving site workers’ competence to reduce accidents and drive up on-site efficiences.
The Scheme keeps a database of those working in construction that achieve, or can demonstrate they have already attained an agreed level of occupational competence.
100% of our workforce are C.S.C.S. certified. This helps us to provide a safe and skilled team to handle our projects and gives our clients the confidence that our teams are safe to operate on their sites.

Amongst our Managing Director, Director, Contracts Manager, Estimator and Senior Quantity Surveyor we have over 135 years of experience. Amongst our Site Foreman we have a further 190+ years. All of this experience has been gained with M. Camilleri & Sons Roofing.

We have an extensive technical library including product literature and all relevant British Standards and codes of practice. We also have direct links to the Technical Departments of all our product manufacturers.

Our extensive technical knowledge and detail draughting capabilities are regularly called upon by Architects and specifiers in order to ensure that projects are compliant with current standards, codes of practice and the relevant manufacturers' recommendations. Our product knowledge also ensures that the latest and most innovative products are brought to the specifier's attention.

We are very happy to be consulted at a design stage to help in the evolution of a scheme and have provided this valuable service on a great range of projects, from new build developments to renovations of listed buildings.

We are listed by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors on their Heritage Roofing Register. This register identifies suitably qualified roofing contractors who have a good track record in carrying out roofing work to historic buildings. Its development has also been strongly supported by bodies such as English Heritage, Cadw Welsh Historic Monuments and the Environment and Heritage Service for Northern Ireland.

We have been awarded Health & Safety awards by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors every year since 1998. From 1998 to 2002 these were Silver awards, with Gold status being consistently achieved from 2002 to 2015.

In the 2007 and 2008 evaluation processes, we actually achieved the highest scores in our discipline and received national awards in May 2008 and '09 in recognition of these.

We feel that this is a direct result of the significant investment we make in training.

Check our Awards section for more information.

We are fully insured to carry out roofing work - many roofing contractors use general building policies, which may not cover high risk aspects such as working at height, hot works, asbestos, etc. - this can help them appear less expensive.

You can rest assured that we are fully covered.

As we have been trading since 1981, we have developed into a solid contractor with a proven track record.

In the event of any problem, our clients (both domestic and commercial) have full confidence in us being here to offer a solution.

All of our clients are made fully aware that our office-based team are always easily contacted and available to address and resolve any issues. We do not operate a computerised telephone system nor do we use answering machines, our staff are always available to speak to during office hours.

Our K.P.I. scheme is a director-led initiative to continually assess the quality of on and off-site operations, with incentives to staff for improvements.

The policy relies on client feedback (in the form of standard questionnaires for each major contract) which is carefully reviewed and used to de-brief our site foremen on completion.

This information is also used to highlight aspects of our operations which are achieving the required and expected standards, and which are not.

* We have the financial strength to service even the largest of projects - we have no supplier or credit problems to impact on your programme.

* We have the financial stability to retain our directly employed skilled operatives, allowing us to offer consistent and high quality work.

* We will not fold mid-way through your project, leaving you with the unenviable task of finding another sub-contractor to pick up the pieces.

* We will continue to trade for the full defects liability period, providing whatever support is necessary to you and your project.

* We will continue to trade beyond the defects liability period and offer a stable and efficient service, continuing to be a reliable, known quantity.

* We are an approved company under numerous independant third-party health & safety assessment schemes. In order to achieve this we are required to meet their standards in areas such as technical ability, equalities, insurance cover, environment and health and safety implementation and control.

* We are also registered with Constructionline, the UK's largest certified pre-qualification database. Constructionline is a Public-Private Partnership between the Department of Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform and Capita Business Services.

The National Federation of Roofing Contractors actively ensures that members offer high standards of workmanship and sound business practice through a strict code of practice and an independent vetting procedure, including site inspections.

We have been an active N.F.R.C. trade member since 1986 and one of our directors held the position of Chair for the South-West region from 1995 to 1996.
