We were thrilled to be contacted by our local charity Ty Hafan who asked if we could help in any way with the building of a new potting shed for their outdoor area. We partnered with our flat roof product supplier Fatra who kindly donated the materials needed and two members of our team went along to carry out the work required.
Tŷ Hafan is a Children’s Hospice based in Sully, Penarth. They take care of children with specialist, end-of-life needs, as well as their families. The hospice gardens, which include a Memorial Garden, are incredibly important to the families of children with life-shortening conditions, as well as the children themselves.
The gardens provide a peaceful and quiet space for contemplation and solace for parents and siblings during respite care periods and an amazing space for the children to visit.
The facilities require continuous effort from a team of volunteers who currently work with no base on site other than a shared garage.
The shed and propagation facility that we have contributed towards will allow the further improvement of the gardens. It will also be a great opportunity for the children using the services, to understand more about nature and cultivate their own plants.
